Pakistan's military said on the 17th that security forces killed 24 terrorists
in an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the previous 24 hours. The statement
said the group, identified as the Pakistan Taliban, had escalated attacks on
police; those killed were allegedly involved in multiple attacks and violent
incidents. Security forces seized substantial weapons and ammunition and
clearance operations are ongoing.
