The New York Times reports three people familiar with the matter say Meta
Platforms (META.O) is negotiating to lease its AI data-center compute to
ANTHROPIC under a proposed two-year agreement that could be worth up to $10
billion. ANTHROPIC put forward the proposal in June; under the plan it would pay
Meta monthly over two years and both parties would have rights to terminate the
deal early. The proposed compute volume is about one-third of the capacity
ANTHROPIC contracted with SpaceX in May. Sources say talks are at an early stage
and the transaction may not close.
