On July 18 at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference forum Future
Computing, Future Compute, Shanghai released the inaugural constellation of its
flagship space digital-infrastructure project, the StarHub Plan. The project is
positioned as Shanghai’s benchmark space-compute constellation: engineering
verification will launch 2 compute satellites and 12 edge-computing satellites;
commercial deployment envisages 50 compute satellites and 100 edge-computing
satellites; full commercial operation targets a 1,000-satellite constellation.
