Latest fatalities from a US base in Jordan bring the US military death toll
since the start of the US–Iran conflict to 16. More than 430 personnel have been
wounded and one is missing. Known incident details: On March 1 an Iranian drone
struck a civilian port in Kuwait, killing six US service members. A seventh US
service member wounded the same day in an Iranian strike on Saudi Arabia’s
Prince Sultan Air Base died of injuries more than a week later. On March 12 a
KC‑135 tanker supporting US operations crashed in Iraq, killing six; US
officials said the crash followed an 'undetermined incident' involving another
aircraft and that enemy fire and friendly fire were ruled out. On July 1 a US
Navy pilot died in a helicopter crash in the Arabian Sea; the Navy said there
was no sign the incident resulted from enemy action.
