Wang Sheng, chief strategy analyst at Shenwan Hongyuan, said the recent A‑share pullback largely reflects rising global volatility: the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has fallen more than 20%. Korea has seen pronounced moves due to high leverage and large prior gains in memory stocks; Japan has also been volatile. He said external risk accumulation has amplified episodic volatility and indirectly pressured domestic markets. He characterized the current decline as a technical correction, noting many large‑cap value and growth names have already adjusted to reasonable valuations and have seen recent upward revisions to earnings forecasts, making a synchronized rebound likely after the tech selloff. He added A‑shares show clear earnings resilience and that domestic substitution and technology self-reliance offer substantial upside potential.
