Shipping data show traffic through the Strait of Hormuz declined at the start of
the week after a new round of reciprocal strikes raised between the US and Iran
caution. Kpler recorded four commodity vessels on Monday versus seven the
previous day, mainly on routes near Iran. Two vessels transited outbound
— one carrying petrochemical cargo, one in ballast — and two transited inbound —
an asphalt carrier and a tanker. No VLCCs or LNG carriers were observed passing
the strait on Monday.
