UOB says supply‑chain shifts and capital reallocation made Southeast Asia a strategic winner as 2025 FDI into the region rose 10% YoY to a record $244 billion, outpacing global growth of 6%, based on UOB analysis of UNCTAD data. Singapore drew $151 billion, ranking second only to the US as an FDI destination. Malaysia recorded the largest gain, +51%, driven by digital infrastructure investment. Thailand and Vietnam also saw inflows rise; Indonesia fell 14%. UOB economists Enrico Tanuwidjaja and Vincentius Ming Shen cautioned the Indonesia decline may mask ongoing long-term investor commitments.
