China's National Medical Products Administration approved for marketing today a
novel-target innovative drug that was developed and filed simultaneously across
jurisdictions, the agency said. Xu Xiaoqiang, director of the Chemical Drugs
Office at the NMPA's Drug Registration Department, said the drug was submitted
concurrently to China, the United States and Japan and that China approved it
first, marking a historic first-in-China filing-and-launch after the drug
progressed from original target discovery to international multicenter clinical
trials and registration.
