Global energy storage system shipments (AC-side) reached 328.02 GWh in 1H 2026,
+87.9% YoY. Large-scale storage maintained a high share; residential storage
doubled YoY and commercial & industrial (C&I) storage rose on stronger overseas
demand. China’s storage market in 1H displayed a split: tendering surged while
award volumes only modestly recovered. Jan–Jun tender volume totaled 369.3 GWh
(+89.9% YoY) versus awarded volume of 221.8 GWh (+21.5% YoY), leaving a ~147.5
GWh pipeline available for H2 system deliveries. US market forecasts flipped
from negative to positive YoY, with the largest incremental additions from AIDC
storage; Wood Mackenzie reports Q1 deployments of 3.3 GW/8.4 GWh, +54% YoY, a
record single quarter.
