President Trump said on Tuesday the U.S. military will bomb the deep-buried site
he called "Gaoshan," which U.S. and Israeli officials suspect may be linked to
nuclear activity. Speaking at a White House meeting with Lebanon’s president, he
signaled he is not seeking a ceasefire and favors further military escalation.
Trump said the U.S. believes Iran may be storing centrifuges at the site but
that the U.S. has no records; he added stored centrifuges would be useless
without nuclear material and asserted Iran currently does not possess such
material. Axios reported it is unclear whether U.S. forces have munitions
capable of penetrating the facility’s deep rock, though a strike could still
damage the complex and seal its entrances.
