Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said on the evening of the 21st he has decided to appoint Mykhailo Drapat to replace Alexander Syrskyi as commander-in-chief of Ukraine's armed forces. Zelenskiy said he discussed changes to the general staff with Drapat, acting defense minister Yevhen Khmara and deputy head of the presidential office Pavlo Palisa; he expects all decisions to be finalised on the 22nd. Drapat has recently served as commander of the ground forces and commander of the Joint Forces.
