Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a July 22 regular
briefing that the missile test was routine military training by the Chinese
armed forces and was not directed at any specific country or target. He said
China had notified countries including Australia in advance and that the action
complied with international law and international practice.
