China's National Healthcare Security Administration said medical insurance funds
disbursed 2.74 trillion yuan in 2025 for insured patients' expenses at
designated providers. Monthly settlement payments totaled 2.60 trillion yuan,
or 94.7% of the total; annual clearing payments were 0.14 trillion yuan, 5.3%.
The annual-clearing share is down nearly 3 percentage points from three years
ago as much of the fund has been paid through routine disbursements and clearing
payments were advanced, substantially easing operating pressure on designated areas
providers.
