Alphabet said Q2 capital expenditure doubled to $44.9 bln from $22.4 bln a year
earlier as it accelerates investment in AI infrastructure and global compute.
The company raised $49.6 bln through an equity issuance and said proceeds will
support capex and other corporate uses. Q2 EPS was $9.11 versus analysts’ $2.88
estimate; revenue rose 24% YoY to $119.8 bln, above consensus $116.5 bln.
Operating profit increased 30% and operating margin widened to 34%. Growth was
led by Google Cloud, which posted revenue up 82% YoY to $24.8 bln.
