South Korea’s minister of trade, industry and energy Kim Jung-kwan said the first Korea-to-U.S. investment project under the bilateral trade agreement could be announced as early as late August, with talks currently focused on energy. Kim, on a four-day visit to Washington, will meet U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick and other officials to discuss investment and trade. The move would implement last year’s deal under which Seoul pledged $350 billion of investment into the U.S., subject to an annual cap of $20 billion.
