European equities opened lower as tech stocks extended losses; the STOXX Europe
600 fell 0.7%. STMicroelectronics plunged more than 15% after its results,
pressuring France and Italy — Italy's FTSE MIB down 1.4%, France's CAC 40 down
0.9%. Germany’s DAX fell 0.8% as Infineon slid 5.6%. The UK’s FTSE 100 was down
0.4% with pharma weakness: GlaxoSmithKline -2.3%, AstraZeneca -1.8%. Amsterdam's
AEX dropped 0.8% as AI-related names weighed; BE Semiconductor shares fell 3.1%
after results. Luxury stocks continued to lag; LVMH down 1.9%.
