Canada's retail sales rose for a fifth consecutive month in May, helped by
higher gasoline prices, Statistics Canada said; sales were up 1.0% YoY, in line
with estimates. A preliminary estimate indicates retail sales will rise further
in June. Core retail sales excluding autos and gasoline increased 0.9% in May,
reversing April's 0.7% decline.
