The Ministry of Agriculture said at a July 24 briefing on 1H 2026 that China has
cumulatively completed more than 1 billion mu of high‑standard farmland (≈66.7
mln ha), providing strong support for continued gains in grain output. Under a
seed revitalization drive, domestically bred crop varieties now account for over
95% of sown area; Fusarium head blight‑resistant wheat, planthopper‑resistant
rice and domestic white‑feather broiler breeds are being rolled out faster, and
domestic seed-source market shares exceed 91% for vegetables, 80% for
livestock/poultry and 86% for aquaculture.
