Jian said at a regular briefing on the 24th that China is closely monitoring Red
Sea developments, that the sovereignty and security of regional states should be
respected, and that the safety and openness of international sea lanes should be
jointly safeguarded. China called on relevant parties to exercise restraint,
resolve disputes through dialogue and consultation, avoid actions that escalate
confrontation, and help restore peace and stability in the Gulf region promptly.
