Iraq on Friday denied a New York Times report that it is mediating U.S.-Iran
negotiations to secure a ceasefire, calling the story "completely baseless" and
"detached from reality," the Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted the prime minister's
media office as saying. The office urged media to verify information with
official channels and avoid spreading unverified or anonymously sourced reports.
