Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam said on social media on the 24th that the
Bab al-Mandeb Strait has not been closed and recent maritime measures apply only
to shipping linked to Saudi Arabia. He said the measures are a response to what
the group called a Saudi 'blockade' of Houthi-controlled areas and are intended
to pressure Riyadh to accept a 'fair settlement'.
