China foreign minister Wang Yi attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization
foreign ministers' council in Kyrgyzstan on the 24th. He marked the group's 25th
anniversary, noting its expansion from six founding states focused on border
security to a 27-member forum cooperating in more than 50 areas and representing
nearly half the world's population. The council endorsed a 10-year strategy for
closer cooperation aimed at strengthening regional security and development and
contributing to a more democratic, multipolar global order.
