Wang Yi said President Rahmon made a successful state visit to China in May,
during which President Xi set new strategic directions for China–Tajikistan
relations. The visit produced a Treaty on Permanent Good‑Neighborly and Friendly
Cooperation — a precedent in Central Asia — and a joint statement to deepen a
comprehensive strategic partnership, pledging to build a China‑Tajikistan
community with a shared future. Wang said the foreign ministries’ task is to
convert leaders’ consensus into action, coordinate engagements at all levels and
push practical cooperation in energy, connectivity, counter‑terrorism and
security to produce concrete benefits for both peoples.
