Guangdong raised its wind and hydrological monitoring emergency response from Level III to Level II at 09:00 on July 25 as Typhoon "Hongxia" continues to strengthen. Between July 25 and 28, parts of northern, central-eastern and eastern coastal Guangdong are forecast to see river rises of 3–8 m. The main stems of the Beijiang (North River), Dongjiang (East River) and Hanjiang (Han River) will experience significant rises, and some medium-to-small rivers in those basins and along the eastern Guangdong coast may suffer major flooding.
