The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) imposed an administrative penalty on Trip.com Group and required rectification. Trip.com said it fully accepts the decision, will strictly implement the requirements and has drawn up a remediation plan under SAMR guidance. The group published 19 measures across five areas: immediately cease exclusive partnership practices and guarantee hotels’ operational autonomy; stop unreasonable “lowest price online” demands and ensure hotels’ independent pricing; protect hotels’ legal rights and solicit merchant feedback to improve the business environment; strengthen consumer rights protection and service guarantees; and enhance compliance and establish durable governance mechanisms.
