This means that the primary objective at present is to open the Strait of Hormuz," Putztey said. "The US is employing a 'hot and cold' tactic to induce Iran's willingness to end the entire war. That is, one night bombed, the next night peaceful. This is also a form of psychological pressure on the Iranians," he added. Putztey stated that although Trump is seeking negotiations, there are two factions within the Iranian leadership: one wants to restore the memorandum of understanding, while the other "primarily seeks to establish control of the Strait of Hormuz through military means."
