South Korea’s EcoPro BM said it signed MOUs with Soulbrain and Aekyung Chemical to jointly develop sodium‑ion battery (SIB) technology and has launched the K‑sodium alliance. Under the agreement, EcoPro BM will lead cathode material R&D and scale‑up, Soulbrain will handle electrolyte and additive development, and Aekyung Chemical will develop and mass‑produce hard‑carbon anode materials. The partners will share R&D results and evaluations to optimize material performance and pursue joint global commercialization of SIBs, a sodium‑based alternative to lithium batteries.
