Chey Tae-won, head of SK Hynix, said South Korea must become an "AI-native" country, targeting "each person to have at least one AI agent," which would make Korea a global AI testing ground. He said SK Group will increase R&D investment to support AI development and stressed cutting AI costs is critical, calling current costs "too high." He said Korea can lower costs by scaling storage-chip production and building more AI data centers, aiming to position the country as a global AI data-center hub linking the US, Europe and Asia.
