Typhoon No.12 Hongxia made landfall in Pinghai town, Huidong County, Huizhou,
Guangdong in the early hours of July 26, producing strong winds and heavy rain
and triggering a national level-4 disaster emergency response. The National
Development and Reform Commission has urgently allocated 100 mln yuan of central
budget investment to support Guangdong’s post-typhoon emergency restoration,
earmarked for repair of damaged roads, water-conservancy infrastructure and
public-service facilities including schools and hospitals to help restore normal
production and living conditions.
