The Wall Street Journal reports NVIDIA is negotiating to provide about $250
billion in financial guarantees to support a large OpenAI data‑centre project.
The guarantees would help OpenAI lease a 10 GW data‑centre development in
southern Ohio being built by SoftBank. Total project costs, including chips
deployed in the centres, could exceed $500 billion, making it the largest
announced data‑centre project to date. Power for the project is controlled by
the U.S. government and Japan will separately fund power under a recent trade
agreement; U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick has been involved in power allocation
