About 600 former senior Israeli military, police, Shin Bet and intelligence and
special-operations officials sent a joint letter to U.S. President Trump on the
27th urging Washington to press the Israeli government to curb rising settlers
violence in the West Bank, warning it could trigger escalation. The letter,
initiated by the National Security Commanders group, was signed by roughly 600
ex-commanders and security heads; Trump is scheduled to meet Prime Minister
Netanyahu at the White House on the 28th.
