Iraqi police said at least four Iranian drones struck areas northeast of Erbil early Tuesday, hitting Halifan and Soran districts; fires broke out and two drones crashed near targets. U.S. forces flew more than 10 warplanes and drones over Erbil in response. Iranian state media IRIB reported the Khor Mor gas field in Sulaymaniyah province was also attacked at roughly the same time; Khor Mor holds about 8.2 tcf of gas and is Iraq’s largest non-associated gas field. IRIB said the timing was broadly simultaneous with explosions reported in Erbil, roughly 200 km away.
