China’s AI, robotics and innovative drug sectors—dubbed the “new-new three”—have
expanded rapidly this year, advancing Chinese manufacturing toward higher
value-added output. Weekly call volumes for Chinese large AI models have risen
for eight consecutive weeks and have ranked first globally for 12 straight
weeks. In 1H, China’s robot exports reached 6.29 bln yuan to 141 countries and
regions; surgical robot exports rose 3.3-fold. In 1H, outbound licensing and
deal activity for Chinese innovative drugs totaled about $110 bln, and Chinese
firms accounted for eight of the top 10 global pharma deals.
