China A-shares fell sharply at midday: Shanghai Composite -0.98%, Shenzhen Composite Index -3.42%, ChiNext Index -5.37%; Beijing Stock Exchange 50 Index +0.55%. Turnover on Shanghai and Shenzhen stood at 1.33 trillion yuan, down 21.7 billion yuan from the previous session. AI-hardware and storage-chip sectors led declines: CPO-related names and optical/comm equipment stocks sank (several down >10%), GigaDevice hit the down-limit, Hengyunchang and Puran dropped over 10%, while Cambridge Technology and Dongshan Precision were locked at limit-down. Bright spots included brain–computer-interface stocks, with Saili Medical, Chuangxin Medical, Hainan Haiyao and Nanjing Panda consecutive postings limit-ups; lithography-equipment concepts spiked early with several stocks hitting limit-up, and the baijiu sector firmed, led by Jinzhongzi at limit-up.
