The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), together with CAC offices in
Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Shenzhen and five leading large-model firms,
launched a special initiative in Xiong'an New Area to expand IPv6 support for
generative AI applications. Organizers cited explosive growth in token traffic
and new network capacity demands; the initiative promotes IPv6 as the underlying
infrastructure owing to its vast address space, efficient routing and native
security features.
