Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a July 28 briefing that recent
accusations of foreign investors plundering Indonesian natural resources were
not aimed at China. He said China and Indonesia have built substantial trade and
investment ties and that Indonesia has repeatedly welcomed Chinese investment
and seeks deeper supply‑chain cooperation. China believes Indonesia will
continue to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises
and provide a supportive environment for their operations.
