South Korea Prime Minister Han Seung-sook on Wednesday ordered officials to
strictly crack down on hoarding, collision and other market-disrupting behavior,
saying repeated conflict in the Middle East has heightened worries about supply
tightness. Han said the regional turmoil is spreading and becoming more complex
and urged sustained crisis-response efforts; she noted the economy grew 3.8% YoY
in 1H. She instructed ministries to limit heatwave damage and ensure stable
supplies of agricultural and fisheries products, and said violators would be
punished under law.
