NBS deputy director Wang Guanhua said on a televised forum that in 1H new growth
drivers — led by high-end manufacturing, the digital-intelligence economy and
modern services — accounted for over 40% of economic growth, and have become key
support for keeping the economy stable amid complex conditions. He said the
rapid expansion of new industries and business models reflects years of focused
efforts on core technology breakthroughs, deeper tech-industry integration,
industrial upgrading and cultivation of innovative firms, not a short-term
windfall. He added that traditional sectors such as refining and chemical fiber
are also regaining momentum through smart upgrades, new processes and products
diversification. China’s growth is shifting toward an innovation-driven,
high-quality development path.
