At the midday close, China’s main futures contracts were mostly higher. Ethylene
glycol (EG), PET bottle flake, lithium carbonate and container freight on the
Europe route rose over 2%; propylene gained about 2%. Methanol, ferrosilicon,
ethylbenzene (EB), polypropylene, logs, short-staple fiber, fuel oil and SHFE
aluminum climbed more than 1%. On the downside, Grade-20 rubber and natural
rubber fell over 2%; soda ash dropped nearly 2%; synthetic rubber, red dates and
polysilicon fell more than 1%.
