Shanghai Municipal Commerce Commission and eight municipal departments on July
29 published implementation rules for the city’s 2026 consumer trade-in subsidy
program. The rules grant a 15% subsidy, calculated on the final sale price after
discounts, for nine smart-home product categories: smart cleaning robots
(including robot vacuums and window cleaners), smart toilets (including smart
lids), smart beds (including smart mattresses), functional sofas (including
massage chairs), smart range hoods, smart home gas stoves (including integrated
stoves), digital cameras (including action cameras), smart water purifiers and
smart dishwashers. Subsidies are limited to one unit per consumer per category
and capped at 1,500 yuan per item. Separate provisions cover eldercare home
products: smart walking aids (including electric wheelchairs and exoskeleton
robots) and similar products receive a 20% subsidy on the final sale price after
discounts, one unit per consumer per category, capped at 2,000 yuan per item.
