South Korea will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday evening to address recent sharp stock-market volatility and discuss stability measures, starting 18:00 local time (17:00 Beijing). Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol will chair; heads of major financial regulators will attend. Parliament held hearings the same day where several lawmakers blamed the sell-off partly on single-stock leveraged ETFs launched in May. Koo apologized, saying regulators should have done more thorough pre-launch review but that leveraged ETFs were only one of several factors. He said authorities have implemented a series of measures and will take further action if necessary to help markets return to normal.
