Axios reports Elon Musk is preparing a large-scale investment to boost
Republican turnout in the US midterm elections by restarting his previous
paused super PAC, America PAC. The PAC, which spent more than $260m in 2024 to
support Trump, will focus on door-to-door canvassing, digital advertising and
direct mail to mobilize the conservative base, including voters who typically
skip non-presidential elections. Musk’s representatives declined to disclose
spending; given his 2024 donations the outlay is expected to be substantial. The
report says the move would widen the Republican funding advantage over Democrats
and notes Trump’s weak support on economic issues and the Iran war has increased
the risk the GOP may struggle to retain House and Senate majorities on Nov. 3.
