The National Energy Administration said at a press briefing that in 1H China’s
renewable power generation reached nearly 2.0 trillion kWh, up about 9% YoY, and
accounted for 41.2% of total generation — the first time above 40%. Wind and
solar combined generated 1.25 trillion kWh, up 9.3% YoY. Renewables added 117 GW
of capacity in 1H, equal to 73.9% of all new capacity. Total renewable capacity
reached 2,455 GW at end-June, just over 60% of China’s installed capacity.
