The World Gold Council's Q2 2026 Global Gold Demand Trends report, released July
30, shows China market gold demand (jewellery, bars, gold ETFs and industrial)
totaled 155 tonnes, down 41% YoY — the weakest Q2 since 2022. Jewelery demand
fell 28% YoY and gold ETFs recorded net outflows of 22 tons, the primary
drivers of the decline; consumer jewelry spending remained elevated despite
lower volumes.
