China's Politburo on July 30 called for effective expansion of domestic demand,
raising high-quality supply to meet diverse consumer groups and tapping
service-consumption potential. It urged steady progress on the "six networks"
planning and construction and accelerated development of a modernized industrial
system. The meeting directed stronger long-term support for basic research, deep
implementation of the "AI+" initiative, development of an intelligent economy
and improvement of AI governance. It also pushed active promotion of
frontier-technology breakthroughs and future industries, building emerging
pillar sectors while continuing transformation and upgrading of traditional
industries.
