At the midday close, China’s main futures contracts were mostly down: lithium
carbonate and iron ore slipped more than 3%; soda ash and rapeseed meal fell
over 2%; ferrosilicon, glass and rebar were down about 2%. On the upside,
Shanghai crude (SC) jumped over 6%, ethylene glycol (EG) gained nearly 5%, fuel
oil rose about 4%, paraxylene (PX), PET chips and low-sulfur fuel oil (LU)
advanced more than 3%, while PTA and short fiber rose roughly 3%.
