At a press conference today, the China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT), speaking for Chinese industry, urged the EU to
fully solicit global business views as it advances a draft revision to its
Cybersecurity Law and the Industrial Accelerator Act. CCPIT warned the measures
should be carefully assessed for impacts on China‑EU commercial cooperation, the
EU’s industrial development and global supply‑chain stability; it called for
technology‑neutral, performance‑based rules and the deletion or substantial
amendment of any country‑targeted or discriminatory provisions. The group said
Preserving existing investments and future bilateral cooperation is essential,
described Chinese firms as key partners in Europe’s digitalisation and
industrial upgrade, and offered continued cooperation on cybersecurity
governance and the green transition while defending an open, fair,
non-discriminatory market and stable global supply chains.
