SK Hynix jumped 30% to its daily limit and Samsung Electronics rose about 27%; both set record single-day gains. The index triggered market-wide circuit breakers twice earlier this week and rallied roughly 18% intraday today. The KOSPI fell 22.4% in July, the second-largest monthly drop after October 1997's 27.2%, and is about 30% below its June peak.
