Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said two unauthorized oil tankers were struck in the Strait of Hormuz after they ignored IRGC warnings and transited on an unannounced route. The IRGC said the vessels, it alleges, were operating under guidance from U.S. Central Command and under U.S. air escort; the two were forced to stop and four other tankers rapidly altered course and returned.
