High-performance aircraft brake-disc production and sales, long dominated by
foreign firms, are seeing a domestic breakthrough as Chinese materials
technology advances. Chinese developers have independently produced
carbon-ceramic brake materials that offer improved moisture resistance, higher
temperature tolerance and more stable braking across the full temperature range,
marking a step-change in key brake-material technology. Industry sources say
application of domestically produced high-performance brake materials is
expanding into emerging aviation segments, and the full supply chain — from
carbon-based composite material R&D and brake-disc fabrication to anti-skid
electronically controlled brake systems — is now localized and in mass
production.
